Memories

Hi, its been a while but here is a post showing you one of the items I have made recently.  Its a Tando Creative Mini Printer Tray.  As you can see I have painted the whole item in black acrylic paint and then glued on some hand coloured paper.  The paper has been coloured with Distress Stains using several greens and blues to build up the level of colour and distress desired.  The edges have been aged using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

As you can see the front of the tray has a Tim Holtz name plate added with "Memories" stamped inside.  The corners have metal corner protectors added and a Swivel Clasp has been attached with a Journey tag and key.

The inside of the tray finds and image stamped in every compartment.  The stamps used are 7 gypsies, and have a steampunk theme.  A small eye chart stamp was used on the inside flap of the tray.

I just love the distress feel of the colours together with the style of stamps making this one of my favourite items made this year.

Shiny New Things

Endings and Beginnings

When one door shuts, another normally opens and that's what has happened to me.  I was recently made redundant from my job and have decided to start my own business using the creative skills I have picked up over the years.   Its been a dream of mine for a long time to do this and this has been just the nudge for me to make the leap.  I am in the process of building up stock levels of mainly cards and jewellery and will be opening a shop on Etsy very soon.  I will let you know when its all up and running.  I will be adding new items as and when the inspiration takes me - I have all sorts of items planned.

Apologies for not posting for such a long time but life does seem to get in the way sometimes, but i will make a concerted effort to keep this blog up to date from now on.
